Vaughan Autism Clinic

Speech & Language Therapy

Communication is fundamental to connection. At NeuroVaughan Autism Clinic, our licensed Speech-Language Pathologists work with children to develop all aspects of communication, from basic sounds to complex conversation skills. We support both verbal and non-verbal children through evidence-based techniques, including alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) when needed. Early intervention is key—research demonstrates that children who begin speech therapy before age 5 show statistically significant improvements in spoken language and social communication.

Key Benefits

How It Works

Our speech therapy begins with a comprehensive evaluation to assess your child’s current communication abilities, including articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, and social communication skills. Based on this assessment, our Speech-Language Pathologists develop individualized goals and create a treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs.

Therapy sessions are engaging and play-based, using activities that motivate your child while targeting specific communication goals. We work on articulation to improve speech clarity, build vocabulary and language skills, develop grammar and sentence structure, and teach pragmatic language skills like turn-taking and conversation.

For children who currently communicate in non-spoken ways, we introduce tools that help them express themselves effectively. These supports do not replace spoken language; instead, they help communication happen now while we continue working toward speech development.
